In Nuts & Bolts Vol. 25 (Flakpanzer IV) we only gave a brief overview of the 2 cm Flakvierling 38 as armament of the Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind. During our research we were surprised by the technical complexity of this weapon, and therefore after our initial studies it was clear that this important weapon system deserved its own detailed Nuts & Bolts. For the first time in the literature, a detailed technical description of the weapon is given, with a focus on the weapon's sights, as most of the weapon's design changes are directly related to the sights. The service history of the Flakvierling is also described with organizational charts and historical photographs showing the gun from 1940 to the end of the war, along with a comprehensive overview and examples of the models available at the time: 2 cm Flakvierling 38 Nuts & Bolts Vol.27 2 cm Flakvierling 38 160 pages A4, perfect bound, approx. 336 photos, including 169 historical photos from manuals and during service in b/w, some previously unpublished; 149 color photos of the surviving guns in public and private collections, 18 color photos of the model by Tony Greenland, English / German captions, 33 pages of English / German text, 20 pages of scale drawings of all versions in scale 1: 35 by John Rue, 12 camouflage schemes by Carlos de Diego Vaquerizo, and tables on the organization of units having the Flakvierling (Kriegsstärke-Nachweisungen KStN) in their inventory, first published on 15.
